May to September is the best time for a land and cruise tour in Croatia. You'll experience calm sailing conditions, beautiful temperatures between 26°C to 30°C and plenty of sunshine.
For Egypt, the best time is during the winter, from October to May, when temperatures are cooler but still pleasantly warm, ranging from 15°C to 25°C.
Luxury Gold operates two luxurious land and cruise tours: Elegance of the Nile and Croatia & The Dalmatian Coast. Our cruise tours feature onboard activities and land excursions with exclusive access and expert guides.
In Egypt, you can experience cocktail making and a Galebaya party whilst onboard the River Tosca. You`ll also get to see the Valley of the Kings and an after-hours visit to the Temple of Luxor with your Egyptologist guide.
In Croatia, aboard the MV Markan you`ll enjoy onboard language lessons and a Captain’s dinner along with sensational swim stops. Highlight stops include oyster tasting in Ston and a VIP visit to the Museum of Apoxymenos in Mali.
Both the River Tosca in Egypt and MV Markan in Croatia dock overnight, with times between ports ranging from a couple of hours. During sailing times guests can enjoy the onboard amenities and entertainment. In Croatia, swim stops in the crystal clear waters of the Adriatic are built into the cruise times.
When cruising in Croatia, you’ll arrive at your destination in plenty of time for dinner (which may be onboard or on land, allowing you free time to sample local restaurants), and then dock overnight. This means that you will not need to rush back, and can enjoy your included experience or free time at your pace. Morning sailing often takes place during breakfast, with generous swim stops along the way. so you can enjoy the views, with generous time allocated for daytime stops.
In Egypt the pace is a little faster, with many archaeological wonders along the route, sometimes up to three a day. You will still have plenty of allocated time to enjoy these experiences. As you will also dock overnight, evening destinations are enjoyed at a relaxed pace.
It is important to read all your pre-tour information, so you know what to expect and can pack accordingly. Porterage is included on all Luxury Gold journeys, but you must adhere to luggage restrictions. Your Captain will brief you on all essential ship rules and safety. It is important to discuss any dietary requirements at the time of booking, to enable the cruise to prepare.

The sun deck features a cabana-lined swimming pool complete with a rooftop bar, jacuzzies, a sauna, an onboard spa and a fitness area. Indoors benefit from a stylish lounge, library and restaurant. For both the River Tosca in Egypt and MV Markan in Croatia, all cabins, restaurants and decks are only accessible by stairs and there are no elevators onboard. Guests will be required to walk on and walk off the vessels, and sometimes to walk from ship to ship when in dock.

Boat shoes/deck shoes or sandals and espadrilles are great options for footwear.
You’ll enjoy the talents of exceptional chefs onboard your cruise, however, they do work within the limitations of small kitchens when preparing special food for vegetarians and people with special diet demands.
